Friend of the Sea is an independent auditor focused on certifying products that are sourced from sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. This third party endorsement fortifies Stavis’ long standing commitment of offering legally harvested seafood from professionally managed fisheries to our customers.

Friend of the Sea is a third party, international, non-profit that audits seafood products to ensure they are not fished from overexploited stocks, are not farmed using growth hormones and are fished in a method that does not impact the seabed. More than 250 companies in 50 countries worldwide utilize Friend of the Sea to certify the sustainability of their products. Almost 40% of Friend of the Sea applicants do not qualify for audit or do not pass audit due to non conformity.
