NCA Opens Nomination Period For The 2014 Confectionery Leadership Awards

WASHINGTON, DC – The National Confectioners Association, in conjunction with Candy & Snack TODAY magazine, has opened the nomination period for the 2014 Confectionery Leadership Awards which allow NCA manufacturers and brokers to recognize trade customers who not only support, but also lead the confectionery industry in innovative thought leadership.

Trade customers are fundamental to the success of confectionery manufacturers and brokers. There are some customers, however, that exemplify the industry through recognition of the true profit potential of confectionery products as well as proactive and forward-thinking everyday merchandising and category promotion.

“The Confectionery Leadership Awards are a key opportunity for members to acknowledge top customers who serve as role models for other retailers and wholesalers,” said NCA President Larry Graham. “It recognizes those individuals who use their experience to lead their constituents and encourage visionary thinking to drive the entire confectionery category forward.

“Recipients promote category growth with creative merchandising solutions, collaboration with manufacturers, and general confectionery promotion, ultimately advancing its role in the retail environment,” he continued.

NCA offers this member-driven awards program to not only pay tribute to outstanding customers, but also to encourage deeper customer engagement and support of the confectionery industry. All confectionery retailers and wholesalers based in the U.S. from any distribution channel are eligible.

NCA will accept nominations for the 2014 Confectionery Leadership Awards through Friday, October 4. The awards will be presented in Miami at NCA’s annual State of the Industry Conference in March where hundreds of industry representatives gain valuable insights and ideas to apply to their businesses while networking with industry peers.
