Stew Leonard’s bakery teams have introduced the Cro-Do, 162 layers of butter anddough deep fried to golden perfection. Half croissant and half donut, and using a unique recipe, Stew’s Cro-Dos have gained legions of fans in the few short days that the World’s Largest Dairy Store has been making and selling them after a successful test-run during the last week in June 2013.
Unlike the Cro-Do’s urban-dwelling cousin, Dominique Ansel’s Cronut, customers do not need to wait on line for hours to buy one, nor do they need to order Cro-Dos weeks in advance! Cro-Dos are made fresh daily by Stew’s team of in-house bakers and are sold in packages of two for $3.99.
All four Stew Leonard’s locations currently offer sugared Cro-Dos while the Newington and Danbury stores offer a glazed version in addition to sugared.
Stew Leonard’s in-house bakery teams make hundreds of fresh Cro-Dos by hand every day. Customers are invited to sample the new Cro-Dos at any of Stew’s Leonard’s bakery departments.
