A Huntersville-based company will buy Stacy’s Greenhouses.
Metrolina Greenhouses announced it will be buying the greenhouse’s assets pending U.S. bankruptcy approval.
The folks at Stacy’s will be keeping their jobs since the plan is to operate the facility as it is now, said Abe VanWingerden, co-CEO of Metrolina Greenhouses.
“And we think the team down there is great and the products they have are great,” VanWingerden said.
Stacy’s struggled in the past few years with getting products out the door at the right time and a lack of capital, he said. Logistics is something Metrolina knows how to do well, and buying the company will provide the money to make things happen.
