Bancroft, Wis.—RPE is excited to announce that two new members have recently joined their sales team, David Tonso and Matt Glowczewski, both formerly of Cañon Potato Company. Tonso and Glowczewski will be based in RPE’s Colorado office.
Tonso comes to RPE after most recently serving as co-owner and acting CEO of Cañon Potato Company, where he has been employed for almost 30 years. Cañon Potato Company recently announced that it was closing its doors.
“My family has known the Wysocki family for a long time, and I know the integrity and honesty of their operation,” says Tonso. “RPE has had so much growth and they’re doing such dynamic things. It fits right into what I want to do and am looking for.”
Tonso has been around the produce industry his whole life. After studying agricultural marketing at Colorado State University, he joined the family-owned potato operation. Tonso has also had the opportunity to serve as member and chair of the potato section of the United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association and as member and vice-chair of the Colorado Potato Administrative Committee.
Completing RPE-Colorado’s dynamic sales team, Glowczewski also comes from Cañon Potato Company, where he has spent the last 18 years in the sales department. Previously, he worked for a wholesale company in Pueblo, Colo., where he worked in every part of the operation over the course of 10 years.
“We are thrilled to have David and Matt joining us and bringing their enthusiasm for the potato industry to our Colorado office,” says Russell Wysocki, president and CEO of RPE. “Having knowledgeable and experienced employees is an important part of our commitment to our customers and category expertise.”
RPE, a second generation family farm, is a category leader and key grower/shipper of year-round potatoes and onions. RPE prides itself on maintaining a high level of business integrity that includes commitments to environmental sustainability, as well as category innovation and retail solutions.
