The Northwest Summer Apricot Season Has Begun

Columbia Marketing International (CMI) one of Washington State’s largest apple, pear, cherry and apricot growers/shippers, announces the arrival of the 2013 NW apricot crop!

“CMI apricots are everything that consumers have come to expect; sweet and flavorful with a juicy golden flesh.  The apricots are about a week ahead of schedule this year and have a full-bodied flavor, commented Mike Robinson, a CMI a grower.

Apricots are available now, through the end of July. Mo Woodward, a leading Sales Rep at CMI said, “There will be good availability during this period, and we are encouraging customers to take advantage of this fast and flavorful program.”

The Northwest apricot crop makes for perfect timing to fill the shelf space from the closing California apricot season.  Consumers have the taste for these golden gems, and will be pleased to get their hands on the Northwest sun-kissed cots.

Easy Apricot Tips

  • After purchase, apricots should be set on the counter until ripe and then stored in the refrigerator.
