PITTSBURGH, Penn. A local grocer continues to make price cuts during tough economic times to save Pittsburgh residents more on produce.
Giant Eagle announced $32.5 million in price cuts on many produce items Monday.
The stores will be offering new lower prices on apples, oranges, potatoes, Iceberg lettuce, green leaf lettuce, red leaf lettuce, bagged salads, short-cut carrots, stem tomatoes and grape tomatoes.
On average the prices will be reduced by 23% in the produce department as a part of a five year initiative to offer customers thousands of low prices across the store.
