ALEXANDRIA, VA – Tickets are now available for the American Floral Endowment’s (AFE) annual fundraising dinner on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass in Phoenix. The dinner is held in conjunction with the Society of American Florists' (SAF) annual convention.
At the dinner, the Endowment will kick off its new awareness campaign video and release the findings from the Purchasing Barriers study underway now. Additionally, donors reaching new giving levels will be recognized.
“The fundraising dinner is the perfect opportunity to learn about the latest Endowment efforts while simultaneously connecting with hundreds of retail florists, wholesalers, growers, educators and more who are interested in ensuring a bright future for the industry,” AFE Chairman Paul Bachman said. “The dinner helps support AFE’s expansive research efforts, which directly benefit all segments of the industry.”
Past AFE research has led to the invention of the cold chain, techniques for extending the vase life of flowers, controlling powdery and downy mildews and more.
The success of the dinner would not be possible without sponsors who lend their names and financial support to the event. Sponsorships help AFE offset dinner expenses, making more funding available for research and grants.
Information is available online to purchase a dinner ticket ($175), become a dinner sponsor or make a general contribution to AFE. Tickets and sponsorships are also available by contacting AFE Executive Director Debi Aker at daker@afeendowment.org or (703) 838-5211.
