Byrne Dairy To Expand Plant, Create 50 New Jobs In Dewitt, NY

DeWitt, NY — Byrne Dairy is planning to build a multimillion-dollar expansion and create 50 new jobs at its Ultra Dairy plant in DeWitt.

Ultra Dairy LLC uses a ultra-high-temperature pasteurization process to make coffee creamers, milk and other dairy products with a shelf life of up to 120 days.

Syracuse-based Byrne Dairy built the Ultra Dairy plant at 6750 West Benedict Road in DeWitt in 2003 for $13 million and expanded it in 2008. Nick Marsella, the company's senior vice president, said the company has invested $68 million in the plant, which employs 130 people.

The new jobs will pay $14 an hour, plus fringe benefits, for entry-level workers, according to the company.
