Sapphire Bakery Company LLC, a wholesale bakery that makes cookies for Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart, has purchased a nearly 30,000-square-foot building in Earth City as part of a $2.4 million company expansion.
Sapphire, led by CEO Steven Scaff, had been leasing the building at 4195 Shoreline Court since January and purchased it for $830,000 in a deal that closed May 23. Brian Kelley of Savoy Properties represented Sapphire. Peder Hulse of Green Street Realty represented the seller, Bridgeton Investments Inc.
Situated on 2.08 acres, the industrial building was previously used as a food production facility. Cass Bank took possession of it in August 2012 for $800,000.
