Shatto Milk Company will be holding their 10th annual open house titled “Family Day at the Farm” on June 22, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event will be to celebrate the farms tenth anniversary and to thank the entire metropolitan region for their support of Shatto Milk Company, the areas true local family dairy farm. There will be something for everyone as visitors can:
- Witness the unveiling of a new Shatto Ice Cream Product.
- Tour the farm.
- Enjoy the new cheese making facility.
- Pet the baby calves.
- Milk a cow.
- Learn how Shatto Milk is processed.
- Enjoy one of their new ice cream sammiches.
- Enjoy a Hay Ride (weather permitting).
- Enjoy free snacks (while supplies last).
- Sample Shatto products.
- Enjoy the country setting.
The event is free to all as the Shatto Family would like everyone to have the opportunity to have fun on the farm while also having the opportunity to learn how Shatto Milk gets from the cow to your local grocery store. Last year’s event brought more than 6,000 people to this local family farm and this year’s event will hopefully provide even more people with an opportunity to learn where their milk comes from. In case of rain, please check our Facebook site as we will post updates on the status of the event.
