Prognosfruit 2013 Registration Open

COPA COGECA and the World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA) are pleased to announce the opening of the registrations for the Prognosfruit 2013 conference. Information and registration to the 2013 edition are now posted on the conference website: www.prognosfruit.eu. PROGNOSFRUIT is a European’s leading annual event for the apple and pear sector where forecast of production for the upcoming season are released.

This year‘s conference will take place from the 8th to the 10th of August, in Prague (Czech Republic). Hans Van Es, COPA COGECA, partner of the conference, stated: “We are very pleased that the meeting will take place this year in the Czech Republic, the first time ever that Prognosfruit is taking place in this country and are very happy to cooperate with the national apples and pears grower association of the Czech Republic on this occasion.”

WAPA will release the apple and pear production forecast for 2013/2014 during the business conference taking place on 9th August. The conference will also review some of the latest topical issues relevant for the apple and pear industry. Besides the solid business programme, Prognosfruit 2013 will also provide delegates with a good mix of educational and social events, offering excellent networking opportunities prior to the opening of the new season. Technical visits to the Czech apple production region as well as a visit of “Brewery KOZEL Velké Popovice” also complete the programme.

The conference brings together apples and pears growers, processors and traders from across Europe and beyond. Philippe Binard, Secretary General of WAPA, stated: “Prognosfruit is a well established event on the agenda of the European apple and pear production. Prognosfruit is celebrating this year its 37th edition, demonstrating the tradition and excellence of this unique conference.”

The current President of the Association is Peter Beaven of Pipfruit New Zealand, while Daniel Sauvaitre of ANPP in France is Vice-President.
