Ottawa – The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Arbutus Ridge Farms Ltd. are warning people with allergies to mustard not to consume the macaroni and potato salads described below. The affected products contain mustard which is not declared on the label.
These products have known to have been distributed in Alberta and British Columbia and may have been distributed in other provinces.
These salads were distributed to retailers, who would have sold them to consumers from clerk-service (deli) counters up to and including April 26, 2013. Consumers who are unsure if they have the affected product should check with their place of purchase.
There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to mustard.
The manufacturer, Arbutus Ridge Farms Ltd., Duncan, BC, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
