Drink In The Beauty Of 'MandeVino'

Vista, California – Drink in the Beauty….MandeVino is such a beauty that every plant lover, connoisseur and amateur alike, will want one for their garden collection.  Cultivated for years to get just the right amount of “body” and a deep rich undertone of fabulous, this mandevilla is no ordinary vine.

Drink in the Color….MandeVino is available in three different “varietals” – Cabernet, Sangria, and Rosé.  Cabernet has a deep rich burgundy bloom with colorful undertones of chocolate and cherry.  It will climb like a vine but also make a nice mound at ground level.  Just like its festive and fruity namesake wine, Sangria has a bright red bloom color. Rounding out the list is the classic mandevilla bloom color of Rosé, a crisp bright pink.

MandeVino is a brand new type of mandevilla hybrid. A significant improvement is that they continually bloom as they grow.  They will bloom in a pot as small as a quart and then continue to bloom all season long.  A gardener can plant any size of plant and have a nice display of bright tropical color all season long.

MandeVino deserves a special place in the garden due to its early flowers that appear all the way up the plant as it is growing. Perfect in a garden bed, climbing a wall or spilling over the edge of hanging basket, MandeVino pairs well with almost any garden design.  MandeVino performs best in full sun conditions. Once established, soil should dry slightly between watering. Cabernet grows to a little over 3 feet tall and wide when mature, Sangria and Rose will mature to over 5 feet tall and 3 or more feet wide.

Lisa Heredia, program coordinator for Floragem, comments “MandeVino is truly breakthrough breeding in the world of tropical vines.  It blooms as it grows, giving it the flower power that both retailers and their customers desire.  With a choice of deep burgundy, festive red or bright clean pink, there is a bloom color to please just about anyone.”
