STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Key Food will bring 200 new jobs to Staten Island by June, as it opens three new stores in the borough. It already employs more than 100 at its two existing locations in West Brighton and Castleton Corners.
"This will put us over 300 jobs that Key Food has created in the borough," said Gino Palummo, Key Food's vice president of business development, noting each Key Food is independently owned and operated. "These jobs include managers, cashiers, stock people, and meat, deli and seafood people."
The three new Key Food supermarkets will be at 244 Arden Ave., Arden Heights, 300 Sand Lane, South Beach, and 109 Port Richmond Ave., Port Richmond.
Many residents favor the "hands-on" community atmosphere Key Food provides, said Palummo, a longtime Staten Islander.
