Silverland Bakery Unveils New Gluten Free & Sugar Free Desserts

Chicago, IL – Silverland Bakery, a commercial purveyor of Brownies, Bakery Bars, Raw Bars and Cookies, unveiled new products in their Gluten Free, Sugar Free, and Natural Food Bar categories.

In the Sugar Free category, Silverland launched a Sugar Free Chocolate Chip Cookie and Sugar Free Salted Caramel Brownie following in the delicious footsteps of their existing line of Natural Sugar Free Brownies and Bakery Bars. Sweetened with Maltitol, the desserts were developed for those with dietary restrictions to sugar, like diabetes.

The newest addition to the Natural Food Bar category is a Pomegranate Pistachio Food Bar. Containing just fruits and nuts, this vegan, gluten free bar is one of the flavors in the first ever line up of natural food bars developed for fresh presentation. The bars can be merchandised in cafés, grab and go areas, and bakeries for a new way to offer a food bar that is traditionally wrapped and shelf stable. The line is also available clam shelled for another presentation possibility.

The Flourless Chocolate Brownie, the first gluten free brownie in the Silverland Bakery lineup, also launches at Expo West. This high profile, triple chocolate, rich, molten brownie has the most intense chocolate flavor in the Silverland Bakery lineup. With chocolate liquor, cocoa powder, and chocolate chunks this is a real chocolate lover’s brownie. Though it is developed without wheat flour, it is no “special diet” dessert.

“I’m always tinkering with flavors, and I’ve gotten to some pretty great products. It is very fulfilling to create products that are delicious and happen to work for people with dietary restrictions,” said Athena Uslander, founder and President of Silverland Bakery. “I love every product we launched at Expo West, and I don’t have a restricted diet.”

The new products were available for the first time at the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, CA March 8-­ 10, 2013.
