Pensacola, Fla. – Emerald Coast Growers is excited to expand their perennial selection with the SunSparkler® series of Sedums, an exciting new line selected for their unique colors, compact habits and extended color show.
“These ultra-hardy Sedums deliver the bold colors, long-lasting blooms and durability that customers have been asking for, along with a great, versatile, compact habit,” says Cheri Markowitz, Sales Manager.
Hybridized by Chris Hansen of Great Garden Plants, this hot new Sedum series is ultra hardy, for Zones 4 to 9. Currently three varieties are available.
‘Cherry Tart’ features unique, deep red leaves and an ultra-compact 6 inch tall growth habit. The leaves remain a colorful cherry-red all summer long and never fade like other groundcover Sedums. In late summer, the vivid foliage is topped by large 5 inch flower heads of deep pink.
‘Dazzleberry’ is an exciting new groundcover that only grows to 8 inches tall by 18 inches wide, but has huge 9 inch flower heads held above disease-free dusky-blue foliage. Blooms summer to fall for over seven weeks of non-fading color.
‘Lime Zinger’ showcases bright lime-green foliage with cherry-red picotee edges. Its compact 4 inch tall by 18 inch wide growth habit makes it a superb new groundcover Sedum.
All three SunSparkler Sedums are great in containers, combos or as fast-growing, colorful groundcovers.
