Champaign IL – The RMC planning committee is honored to announce Dr. William Weldon, Vice President, Global Research and Development and Western Europe Operations, Elanco Animal Health, will kick off the AMSA 66th Reciprocal Meat Conference (RMC) with a keynote address on Monday morning, June 17th in Auburn, AL.
Dr. Weldon’s responsibilities include Elanco’s global research, development and regulatory operations, as well as Western European Commercial Operations. These areas are responsible for the development and launch of new products and solutions that improve the health, wellness, wellbeing and performance of animals. In Western Europe, he is also responsible for sales and marketing of Elanco products.
Dr. Weldon joined Elanco in 1995 and has served in various roles, primarily focusing on delivering innovations with Elanco. During his tenure at Elanco, he has been involved with teams that have successfully introduced several new products to the market. Dr. Weldon’s involvement began with supporting new product introductions directly to the marketplace and now include responsibilities for developing new products from research and development.
A native of Michigan, he received his B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science from Michigan State University and received his Ph.D. in Animal Nutrition from the University of Nebraska. Prior to Elanco, Bill was Assistant Professor of Animal Science at Ohio State University and was a Swine Nutritionist at Newsham Hybrids USA.
