Comté Cooking Videos Now Available

The Comté Cheese Association has just released its first-ever series of “Comté Cooking School” cooking videos.  The five 2-4 minute cooking videos showcase delicious but easy-to-prepare recipes using Comté cheese, with step-by-step instructions, tips about cooking with Comté and information about the cheese and the region.  The videos are available to view and stream on the Comté USA YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/comtecheese

The video series features: Comté Fondue; Comté Tuiles; Comté & Currant Scones; Comté & Ham Crêpes; and Salade au Comté with Apples & Beets.  The videos are a fantastic tool to teach consumers about the diverse ways to cook with and enjoy Comté.  Each of the recipes corresponds to one of the Comté Cheese Recipe Cards (for more information about Comté Recipe Cards, and to view the entire line or request copies, visit www.comte-usa.com or www.Facebook.com/ComteUSA).

The Comté cooking videos feature chef, culinary instructor and Comté ambassador Nicki Sizemore.  Sizemore, who has been working for the Comté Association for seven years, states, “Comté is a fantastic cheese to cook with.  Its diverse yet subtle aromas and its beautiful melting ability enhance both raw and cooked dishes.  It’s the cheese I reach for when making anything from sandwiches, to fondue, to gratins, macaroni and cheese, and even baked goods such as scones and muffins.”

Made exclusively in the Jura Mountain region of France, Comté is an artisanal cheese with AOC (Controlled Appellation of Origin) and PDO (European Protected Denomination of Origin) designations. Each wheel of Comté reflects a unique terroir, a season of production, and centuries of cheesemaking and affinage traditions.
