Marel Honored With American Meat Institute Supplier Of The Year Award

ATLANTA – Food processing equipment supplier Marel today was awarded the American Meat Institute’s (AMI) Supplier of the Year during the 2013 AMI International Production & Processing Exposition in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Supplier of the Year Award is given to an AMI supplier member that truly partners with meat and poultry processors to help achieve industry goals. Under the leadership of President Einar Einarsson, Marel has been a strong supporter of the industry. The Icelandic company was recently ranked number one globally in advanced equipment and systems for poultry, fish and segments of further processing.

The protein market has been growing steadily for the past two decades, and Marel has risen to meet the needs of the industry with innovative processing equipment that helps processors provide the products that consumers desire.  Marel continues to maintain its vision of leadership in the design and manufacture of weighing and grading equipment, computer vision systems, intelligent portioning machines and total-solution processing systems.

Marel works side-by-side with its customers to extend the boundaries of food processing performance and supports it customers  with offices and subsidiaries in over 30 countries on six continents, a global network of over 100 agents and distributors and manufacturing facilities in 16 locations worldwide.

Additionally, Marel has been an active, engaged member of the Institute’s Supplier Community.  President Einar Einarsson has been a member on AMI’s Board of Directors since 2011.  Marel most recently hosted the AMI Meat, Poultry & Seafood Industry Convention’s Expo Networking Reception in 2011.

The Institute provides legislative, regulatory, public relations, technical, scientific and educational services to the meat and poultry packing and processing industry.
