The Southeast Regional Fruit & Vegetable Conference and Tradeshow is the largest produce event of its kind in the south eastern US, and reports say attendance is still growing as the 2013 event approaches.
Held in Savannah, GA, January 10-13, 2013, the 4-day conference is co-sponsored and hosted by the South Carolina Peach Council and the Georgia Fruit & Vegetable Growers Association (GFVGA). Charles Hall, GFVGA Executive Director, is pleased to see attendance continue to grow.
“We’ve seen a steady percentage of increase since we opened online registration,” he said. “We’re preparing for more than 3000 attendees.”
The 2012 conference boasted over 2700 attendees, 80+ hours of educational sessions and more than 200 booths in its trade show. This year, educational sessions are more relevant than ever and the tradeshow has expanded to allow for more exhibit space.
Commodity specific educational sessions will include workshops on food recalls, seminars on managing Spotted Wing Drosophila and the effects of Dicamba 2-4D on crops. A full list of the educational sessions to be offered can be found at www.seregionalconference.com.
