Margins are improving steadily at P.E.I.'s Atlantic Beef Products plant and a deal with a major retailer will be announced in the new year, says the company's new president.
'We do expect to get this plant to a break-even point.'— Paul De Jonge
Atlantic Beef Products is the only federally-inspected beef plant in the Maritimes. Paul De Jonge took over as president last month. He expects the new deal, and several others in the works, will mean production will be up significantly in 2013.
"We will probably experience production up 50 to 60 per cent over where it was a year ago," said De Jonge.
