SALINAS, Calif. – Mann Packing Company is increasing shipment of its French bean items for the holidays.
Sales of the 8-ounce bag of washed, ready-to-eat French beans are growing and the company is shipping promotional level volume through the holidays and into 2013.
“The French beans are a perfect complement to our green bean program overall and a nice addition to our growing line of specialty niche vegetables which includes crinkle cut sweet potato fries, butternut squash and Broccolini®,” said John Haydock, senior vice president of sales.
The French bean segment is growing at 15.7 percent annually, outpacing the conventional green bean segment at 7.9 percent annual growth (Source: Nielsen Perishables Group YTD week ending 5-26-2012).
