Village Farms Rebranding & New Packaging Creates Stir In Design World One Year Post Launch

After unveiling their new logo, packaging, and brand concepts in late 2011, Village Farms has caught the eye of the design world one year later.

Recently, Village Farms’ packaging was featured on The Dieline, considered, ‘the most visited website on packaging design in the world’. The Dieline, dedicated to promoting the best packaging design the world over boasts a readership of millions spanning hundreds of countries. Village Farms is featured on The Dieline for its new and innovative clamshell labeling, stand-up pouch bag, and case box concepts designed for them exclusively by the firm Edmundson Martin of Boca Raton, Florida.

The firm, led by founding partners and designers; David Edmundson and Russ Martin, has over 19 years of creative experience building consumer brand identities and packaging through meaningful design. The designers have concurrently won the most recent PRINT magazine design competition for the concepts created for the Village Farms brand. Village Farms packaging is featured in the December 2012 issue of PRINT magazine where Edmundson Martin are selected as the winner in the 2012 PRINT Regional Design Annual.

And the accolades for Village Farms rebranding and packaging design concepts do not stop here, look for them in the upcoming ‘Global Innovations Report’ published by GDR Creative Intelligence, a unique quarterly publication complied exclusively for consumer brands to highlight the latest developments in retail and hospitality from around the world.

According to Helen L. Aquino, Marketing Manager for Village Farms, who spearheaded the rebranding for the company and worked closely with Edmundson Martin during the life of the project, “We are certainly elated with the positive response to the rebranding from our customers, consumers, and now the design world at large which by all indications means this project was a success. Our goal was to create an authentic experience for everyone who comes in contact with our brand and Edmundson Martin worked relentlessly to achieve this goal, and because of this we cannot be more pleased.” David Edmundson had this to say, “"The forward thinking nature of the Village Farms team and their openness to reach beyond the boundaries of traditional produce branding were instrumental in the successful outcome of the rebrand. It was a pleasure collaborating with people who understand the difference strategic design can make in connecting with consumers and ultimately selling more product."
