CANBY, Ore. – Terra Nova Nurseries announced two new introductions now available to garden centers, Heuchera ‘Fire Alarm’ and Kniphofia ‘Orange Vanilla Popsicle’. Similar to Terra Nova Nurseries’ Heuchera ‘Autumn Leaves’ variety, ‘Fire Alarm’ has the reddest foliage of any heuchera available in today’s marketplace. ‘Orange Vanilla Popsicle’ is the latest addition to the company’s Popsicle™ Series, which also includes Kniphofia ‘Creamsicle’, Kniphofia ‘Lemon Popsicle’, Kniphofia ‘Mango Popsicle’, Kniphofia ‘Papaya Popsicle’, Kniphofia ‘Pineapple Popsicle’, and Kniphofia ‘Redhot Popsicle’.
‘Fire Alarm’ has super vigorous, thick, leathery red leaves that give it a “look at me!” effect. This plant changes colors throughout the seasons and complements almost every section of the color palette. Perfect for zones 4-9, this variety is drought-tolerant, heat- and humidity-tolerant and lives through the winter months. The average size includes 14” Width / 9” Height / 13” Flower Height. For optimal growth plant in moderately well drained, organic soils.
'Orange Vanilla Popsicle' is a two-toned beauty with a creamy-white bottom topped with flower spikes of red-orange. This variety is a massive re-bloomer, has short grassy leaves and a compact habit like the others in the series. Also, ‘Orange Vanilla Popsicle’ is deer-resistant and drought-tolerant, making it perfect for zones 6 – 9. The average size includes 14” Width / 16” Height / 20” Flower Height. Along with the other varieties in the series, this plant is day neutral and blooms as long as it has some heat and high light.
