Rochester Cheese To Expand Rochester Facility, Transition Production

Davenport, IA: Rochester Cheese has announced expansion plans for its Rochester, MN location. The site, which currently serves as a warehouse and distribution center, will be expanded to include production lines for the company’s club and pasteurized process cheeses.

“The move was based on growth of the business and an increased need for production capabilities,” said Jeff Saforek, VP/GM of Dairy Ingredients for Swiss Valley Farms, the parent company of Rochester Cheese.

Currently, production of the club and pasteurized process cheeses is handled by Rochester Cheese’s Spring Valley, MN location. Once the production transition is complete, Spring Valley will remain in an active capacity as a warehousing and contingency production site. All Spring Valley employees have been offered positions at the Rochester, MN location.

The target date for completion is set for March of 2013.
