Sysco Corp. will acquire a division of a Canadian company and has finalized the acquisition of a unit of an Ireland-based company.
Sysco said in an Oct. 22 statement it closed on the acquisition of the food-service distribution arm of Ireland-based Keelings Foods on Oct. 3, but it did not say when it expects to close on the acquisition of Distagro, the food-service division of Montreal-based Metro Richelieu Inc.
The Houston-based food-distribution company did not disclose the financial terms of the deals, but it did say the entities had combined annual sales of nearly $400 million.
The Keelings business, which employs 160 people, is Sysco’s third acquisition in Ireland. It previously acquired Pallas Foods in 2009 and Crossgar Foodservice this past August.
