CORAL GABLES, Florida – In an effort to help raise funds for breast cancer awareness and to support one of its loyal retailers, Price Chopper, Turbana has partnered with Pink Ribbon Produce, a unique retail program committed to raising breast cancer awareness while emphasizing the importance of healthy eating habits. Pink Ribbon Produce will be available at Price Chopper from October 7 through November 7 so that when consumers purchase bananas, a portion of the proceeds are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.®
During the campaign, 100% of bananas at Price Chopper will feature stickers that position Turbana as a "Proud Supporter of Pink Ribbon Produce." The money donated by Turbana and Price Chopper consumers goes directly back into the communities; funds raised by this program will provide mammograms and educational programs to help save the lives of thousands of uninsured women, while educating people how to fulfill healthy lifestyles.
"We are so grateful to have this opportunity where we can partner with one of our valued retailers to help raise money and awareness for such a significant cause," says Turbana's Marketing Director Marion Tabard. "Pink Ribbon Produce is a way to help our retailers give back to their own communities, which is very much aligned with our values at Turbana. Built into our core is social responsibility and giving back to the banana-growing regions that provide North America with nourishing bananas."
For the last twenty-five years, Turbana has helped build sustainability and growth in Uraba, Colombia through Turbana's social foundation Fundauniban. By supporting social projects in the banana-growing regions, Turbana has been able to build a solid foundation for a strong and reliable company and recognizes the importance of helping its retailers do the same.
