ABINGTON — Grocery home delivery service Peapod is testing a free trial designed to take the legwork out of a trip to the grocery store.
Last week, Peapod launched a pick-up window at Stop & Shop Supermarkets’ Centre Avenue store in Abington. Customers who order groceries online from Peapod can schedule to pick up their purchases at a drive-up window.
The service is being promoted to customers who live within 10 miles of the Abington store.
The pick-up window is designed to appeal to customers who may not want to pay Peapod’s delivery fee – which ranges from $7 to $10 – or don’t have time to wait at home for a delivery, Peapod marketing director Peg Merzbacher said.
