Brunswick, GA–Long-known for innovative surimi products, including Lobster Sensations® and Seafood Sensations™, King & Prince Seafood experts are getting new ideas at The Annual Surimi Forum. Under the direction of Dr. Jae Park of Oregon State University’s Seafood Research & Education Center, The Surimi Forum and Surimi School are annual springtime events at the OSU Seafood Laboratory in Astoria, Oregon. King & Prince is a sponsor of the event which draws experts from all over the world to learn and discuss production techniques, quality control, flavor science and market updates.
“We find Surimi School a great source of inspiration,” said Susan Gurkin, Director of Innovation at King & Prince Seafood. “It’s a good opportunity for us to get away, open our minds and absorb new information that will stimulate our creative thinking.”
Examples of that creative thinking include the Sensations™ family of products—extremely versatile and flavorful surimi-based blends that help operators offer an endless variety of “affordable luxury” menu items, both hot and cold, and in all dayparts.
Surimi School is a worldwide effort hosted by Dr. Park, with events in Asia, Europe and Japan in addition to the U.S.
