Lynnfield, MA – Hood® Simply Smart® Milk and Chris Evert, Simply Smart spokesperson and tennis legend, announced that Debbi McCarthy, Director of Development for Feeding America Tampa Bay in Tampa Bay, FL, is one of three recipients of a $5,000 donation from winning the Hood Simply Smart Milk's “Make a Difference, Taste a Difference” campaign.“The entire Board and staff of Feeding America Tampa Bay are so grateful to Hood Simply Smart Milk and Chris Evert for this unique opportunity to mobilize the Tampa Bay community in our mission of Ending Hunger and Nourishing Hope,” McCarthy said. “Make a Difference, Taste a Difference is a theme that resonates especially well with our hunger relief efforts, as we strive to provide the most nutrient rich products to children and families struggling with hunger. The $5,000 donation will provide 20,000 meals for our neighbors in need – making the most important difference of all.”
The Simply Smart “Make a Difference, Taste a Difference” program recognizes local women making a difference in their communities. Two additional women were also chosen for making a difference in their communities – Carla Miklos, Executive Director of Operation Hope in Fairfield, CT, and Samantha Eisenstein Watson, Founder of The SAMFund in Boston, MA. In celebration, Chris Evert will deliver the donation and participate in activities to congratulate the winning organizations at a later date. Winners were chosen based on the number of votes received on the Simply Smart Milk Facebook page.
