On the fourth of July in Sin City Las Vegas, NV, pastry chefs, culinary professionals and students from around the world will be gathering at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa for the Amoretti World Pastry Forum and Championship. The event, put on by Carymax, LLC, has created excitement in those who have a passion for all things sugar, chocolate, cake and beyond.
This year we are excited to chefs in the top of their field teaching subjects on gelato, cake decorating, chocolates and flavor combinations. The afternoon of July 4 to the morning of July 8 will be filled with demo classes instructed by Rudolph Van Veen, En Ming Hsu, Fabian Rimann, Chris Hanmer, Bernd Siefert, Julie Bashore, Anil Rohira and Kanjiro Mochizuki. During these dates students also had the opportunity to take three hands on classes. Ewald Notter and Vincent Pilon will be focusing on chocolate and sugar pieces, while Jean-Marie Auboine will be making his chocolate magic and Toba Garrett will be showing students how to do wedding cakes.
In the evening classes will be taught on How To Start Your Own Bakery Business, taught by Michele Huyeke. Biagio Settepani and Robert Ellinger will be whipping students into shape during their Bakery Bootcamp and two free seminars will be hosted by Chef Canonne and Chef Leroux.
Following the Forum is the highly anticipated World Pastry Championships. Who will be crowned the winner out of the 7 teams? During the 8th and the 9th of July, these teams will be working long hours to complete sugar and chocolate sculptures that fall under this year’s theme of Astrology/Horoscopes. They will endure 13 hours of work and will then be judged by a panel of experts on artistry, technical merit, work ethic, hygiene and degustation.
We invite you to come join this event and cheer on your favorite team, meet your favorite pastry chef and enjoy some world class desserts.
