PLYMPTON — Only 14 months ago the Plympton Industrial Park was nothing but dirt and power lines. Now, the $100 million Sysco Boston facility is undergoing final preparations before becoming functional next month.
Plympton’s 43D Coordinator Ken Thompson announced at the June 18 Board of Selectmen meeting.that Sysco will begin moving product from their Norton facility over the weekend of June 23. He said that staff would be moving into the building Friday, June 29, with business scheduled to begin Sunday, July 1.
Sysco plans to move the entire inventory of the current Norton facility, 300 truckloads, over the weekend.
“Absent a couple of final issues you will see a lot of truck activity in the next week,” Thompson said. “It has been an interesting 14 months, the town has been very cooperative.”
