A New Look For Frieda's Angelcots

LOS ALAMITOS, CA – Frieda’s “heavenly white apricots” are back, sporting a new label with Frieda’s signature purple color. An Angelcot® is an oval-shaped fruit with velvety, pale yellow skin and white, juicy, intensely sweet flesh. They are a hybrid of the Moroccan and Iranian apricots, grown in Central California. With only a few acres being harvested for Angelcots® in the world, their season is short, lasting from 2 to 8 weeks.

Karen Caplan, Frieda’s CEO and President, described the history and harvesting of Angelcots®in What’s On Karen’s Plate, her blog she started in 2010.

“Even though it was a full two weeks before harvest, I picked an Angelcot® off the tree and sampled it. I could already taste the sweet juiciness of this special fruit,” Caplan wrote. Click here to read the entire blog post.

Angelcots® will be available in select retail stores across the United States later this month.
