The Kroger Co. of Michigan said Friday it is partnering with three state agencies to promote Michigan-made products.
Kroger, the Michigan Economic Development Corp., Michigan Ag Council and Michigan Milk Producers Association have announced a new emphasis on Pure Michigan products in local Kroger stores.
The Cincinnati-based retailer will soon have special "Experience Pure Michigan" displays and shelf tags for Michigan-made products — those with 51 percent or more of their value coming from in-state.
The group says if every Michigan household spends $10 each week on Michigan-produced food, nearly $40 million weekly could be pumped back into the state's economy.
