Country Music's Trace Adkins Lends Name To Louisiana-Produced Sausage Brand

If you've been in a local Brookshire's grocery store lately, then you've probably been surprised in the meat market by the appearance of Trace Adkins.

It's not him in person, only a close to life-size cardboard image hanging out near the sausage display. That's because the country music star has partnered with a Louisiana-based, family-run business to promote the locally produced sausage.

The move expands the line of Hightower Enterprises LLC and makes its Trace Adkins Hightower's Country Smoked Sausage an exclusive offering of the Brookshire's grocery store chain.

For 40 years, Marvin Hightower produced Hightower's Country Smoked Sausage as a family-owned company at a plant between Minden and Homer just inside the Claiborne Parish line. It's about 16 miles from Adkins' hometown of Sarepta.
