BERWICK – After extensive testing, Meadowbrook Meat Market fully-cooked boneless hams have been deemed safe for consumption.
Production of the hams was halted and the product was removed from retail shelves late last week due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Two Agriculture Department inspectors went to the Meadowbrook facility in Berwick on Sunday and found no trace of Listeria, Mike Horwich, a department spokesman, said Tuesday.
The hams in question were marked best before April 1 to 3 and were sold at Alderney Landing farm market in Dartmouth and at the Meadowbrook retail store in Berwick.
