BOULDER, Colo. — The ChefTec Fund from Culinary Software Services announced today that the Fund has made a donation of ChefTec software to My Gluten-Free Bread Company.
My Gluten-Free Bread Co. is aimed at mentoring and employing young people with a sustainable skill but also has strong revenue potential. After learning that one in every 133 people is intolerant to gluten, the idea for a gluten-free bakery was born. They are training the homeless and at-risk youth to bake specifically gluten-free products and are contracting with grocery stores for their offerings.
"The Fund carefully evaluates all requests and My Gluten-Free Bread Co. embodies the ideals we look for," commented Eileen Allison, Marketing at Culinary Software Services. "We hope the donation serves their needs and allows them to continue to serve today's youth more efficiently."
"My Gluten-Free Bread Co. is honored to be a recipient of this very generous contribution of software from Culinary Software Services," stated General Manager, Michael Akers. "Anything that helps us save time and money allows more time to spend on training our youth and providing them with saleable skills."
According to Mr. Akers, the ChefTec Fund's software donation will be used to track vendor bids, maintain inventory and track expenses which will vastly improve previously used pencil and paper methods. ChefTec can also provide nutritional and allergen information. The program not only teaches the skill of baking but also is partnering with several grocery stores in the area to provide gluten-free baked goods. Students will also gain experience of the business side by learning about store supply and demand.
To be eligible for a donated copy of ChefTec Software organizations must be a certified 501(c)(3) non-profit under IRS rules, and must be able to document how the software will be used as a part of the group's primary mission. Examples of groups that will be eligible for donations from the ChefTec Fund include shelters for the homeless or victims of domestic violence, group homes, and food banks. Non-profit groups interested in applying for assistance from the ChefTec Fund may contact Eileen Allison via email at Marketing@CulinarySoftware.com or call 303-447-3334.

About My Gluten-Free Bread Company
My Gluten-Free Bread Co., located in Hendersonville, NC, is a social enterprise of My Place, Inc. a shelter for older homeless and at-risk youth in Appalachia. My Place was founded by Buddhist nun, Venerable Pannavati, as a grassroots positive youth development and advocacy organization. Rather than a handout, the program is providing a hand up with housing linked to educational goals and employable skills development. Based on the famous Greyston Bakery model, they want (as the CEO of Greyston said) to do good AND do well! So, the bread company has a double bottom line in social mission and business. They envision extending the company's model to assist other organizations serving at-risk populations in developing revenue-based programs to impact and sustain their good works.
