Brunswick, GA – King & Prince Seafood has earned the prestigious BRC (British Retail Consortium) Certification under the Global Standard for Food Safety. After an extensive review of the company’s operational systems and procedures, documentation and a comprehensive plant audit, King & Prince Seafood’s facility in Brunswick, Georgia was awarded certification with a grade of “A,” the highest available.
“This is a great tribute to the dedication of our people, their many hours of hard work and their commitment to our customers,” said Volker Kuntzsch, President of King & Prince Seafood. “We are all united in our determination to deliver the finest quality, best-tasting and safest seafood products that foodservice operators can serve with confidence. And we will continue to deploy the resources necessary to make that happen.
BRC audits are based on seven sub-categories: senior management commitment, food safety plan (HACCP), food safety and quality management system, site standards, product control, process control and personnel.
“Devotion to quality has always been the foundation of our business,” said Gene Laurendeau, a 30-year veteran and BRC Coordinator for King & Prince. “Today, when foodservice operators all over the world are responding to their customers’ demands for quality and safety, this recognition sends a strong message about our dedication to their needs, and our ability to help them succeed with seafood.”
