BUFFALO, N.Y. – Upstate Niagara Cooperative continues to be recognized for their unparalleled quality and dedication to the craft of dairy.
The Western New York cooperative was awarded a record-setting six awards by the All Star Association Convention.
The All Star Association’s current membership includes over 300 plants in 47 states, Puerto Rico and Nova Scotia, producing fluid milk, ice cream, cultured products, cheese, water beverage, juice, custom blowmolding and related products.
The local dairy co-op was given top honors by receiving the All Star Award for its ongoing leadership in quality and food safety. “We are thrilled to be recognized with this award. It truly represents the level of attentiveness and care every person in our organization – from our farmer owners, right through to our plant employees – gives to make safe and delicious products for our consumers,” said Jim Murphy, VP of Quality and R&D at Upstate Niagara.
Upstate Niagara also shone brightly at the 2012 World Championship Cheese Contest – taking first, second and fourth place for their cottage cheese products. Mr. Murphy attributed the multiple awards to his team. “Our performance at this year’s contest validates the steadfast dedication our team puts in every day in order to produce award-winning cheese.”
