NEW HARTFORD — Cheese is more than just cheese for the Felio family, which owns Three Village Cheese Co.
It's what brings their family together.
Arthur Felio, 65, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease shortly before his retirement from the Central New York Developmental Disabilities Service Office in Rome. He said his decision to start a cheese company helped him and his family get through tough times.
“I didn't know how much time I had to work with,” Felio said. “It progressed slowly, and we were looking for something to do to help support our farm. I was doing fine. So, we decided we'd go ahead and start a cheese business.” Felio runs his business with his wife, Torrey, son Thomas, and family friend Conor McCann.
