Hoping to reassure wary moms, General Mills has reformulated its Yoplait Trix yogurt to remove artificial colors, artificial flavors and high fructose corn syrup.
A cup of Trix yogurt still contains a swirl of wild colors and zany flavors like cotton candy and strawberry punch. But since January, food dyes Red #40 and Blue #1 are no longer being used, and Trix yogurt is now colored with "vegetable juice, beta carotene and tumeric extract," according to the label.
Golden Valley-based General Mills has long pitched Trix yogurt to children, befitting the age-old advertising slogan, "Trix are for kids"
