Price Chopper Debuts "Xtreme Values" In Hartford, Connecticut Area Stores

SCHENECTADY, NY – Price Chopper Supermarkets last week unveiled its new “Xtreme Values” concept in five Central  Connecticut stores (Southington, Bristol, Vernon, Newington and Windsor). Price Chopper’s newest answer to the consumer’s  battle cry for value, Xtreme Values piles high deeply discounted items and distinctively signs them to stand out in specially merchandised areas of the stores. With Clear Value, Price Chopper’s popular economy line as its base, Xtreme Values is poised to live up to its name by featuring an ever-changing assortment of opportunity buys, limited edition products, lesser known brands, truckload sales, and closeouts, as well as not seen before deals on corporate and national brand products.

“Xtreme Values brings the fun and excitement of a treasure hunt to the Price Chopper shopping experience,” said Price Chopper CEO Jerry Golub. “Connecticut customers have proven that they recognize the outstanding quality of our fresh foods as well as the value offered by our AdvantEdge card discounts, double coupons, corporate brand products, digital coupons and Fuel AdvantEdge promotion. Xtreme Values gives them one more compelling reason to shop at Price Chopper.”

The Xtreme Values sections within each store will feature packaged food and non-food products (e.g., heavy duty laundry liquid, paper products, etc.) while the fresh food departments located around the perimeter of the store have incorporated their Extreme Values offers into their sets. All of the stores have undergone significant remodels across the last three months, not only to accommodate the addition of Xtreme Values, but to adjust product adjacencies throughout the store in response to suggestions from customers.

Xtreme Value sections launched in Connecticut the week of March 5, 2012. At this time there are no plans to expand Xtreme Values to the chain’s other 123 locations in the Northeast.
