ROSEMONT, Ill.– US Foods, one of the country’s most innovative food companies and leading distributors, is helping chefs gear up for the grilling season with the launch of 30 new products today. The products range from an exclusive Chef’s Line Pat LaFrieda Angus Chopped Beef Burger and Chef’s Line Wild-Caught Alaskan Salmon Sliders from sustainable fisheries to Chef’s Line Pit Smoked St. Louis Style Ribs and the world’s first all butter croissant burger and sandwich bun. These new, high-quality products for spring will help restaurants refresh their menus and save time in the kitchen.
“We scoured the globe for the latest food trends and combined them with classic American dishes to come up with 30 unique and delicious products to help restaurants drive traffic and thrill diners during the upcoming grilling season,” said Pietro Satriano, chief merchandising officer, US Foods. “From our Portuguese churrasco sauce and all-natural deli salads to our veggie burgers, the spring product line will keep kitchens cooking throughout the spring season and beyond.”
One of the most anticipated products is the exclusive Chef’s Line Pat LaFrieda Angus Chopped Beef Burger. This is the result of a new partnership between US Foods and legendary, third-generation New York City master butcher Pat LaFrieda.
“This is the best burger you’ll ever taste,” Satriano said. “It’s rich and juicy with an intense beef flavor. US Foods is proud to be the only national food company and distributor for Pat LaFrieda.”
US Foods also offers a new all butter croissant bun for sandwiches and burgers and a sliced 9-grain sprouted bun made with high-mountain flour. Plus, there are three new international Chef’s Line sauces and three exciting new twists on the classic American dessert bread pudding.
Three prepared deli salads from the Metro Deli line were also introduced to help customers add more variety and flavors to menus. Salads include Curry Coleslaw in a blend of coconut milk and curry, Santa Fe Brown Rice and Lentil in tangy tomato sauce with chili and cumin, and Thai Peanut Yakisoba Noodle in a sauce of peanut butter, soy and chili.
“Our 30 new products will help energize restaurants and foodservice operations around America by adding spark and spice to menus and giving diners strong reasons to keep coming back again and again,” Satriano said.
