LOS ALAMITOS, CA – The produce experts at Schnucks geared up for winter citrus season by hosting a Frieda’s Produce University® event on Saturday, February 25. Schnucks produce managers and personnel were on-hand throughout the day conducting tastings of citrus and providing education to consumers.
The tasting and education event took place at all Schnucks, Logli, and Hilander locations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin. This session of Produce University® featured a variety of specialty citrus, including Shasta Mandarins, Cara Cara Oranges, Blood Oranges, Meyer Lemons, Kumquats, Melogolds and Pummelos
Schnucks has partnered with Frieda’s for the psat four years to offer Frieda’s Produce University®. Education and training has included themes about summer melons and a “Fresh Twist on Holiday Cooking.” “Produce University® highlights our produce managers’ knowledge while providing shoppers with fresh education in the produce department,” said Mike O’Brien, Vice President of Produce for Schnuck Markets, Inc.
