Dayton, NJ — On Tuesday, January 10, 2011, American Roland Food Corporation held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new enlarged Quality Assurance lab, located at Pro Warehouse, its affiliated facility. “This lab allows us to continue to ensure the quality and consistency of our products before they reach the consumer and chef,” said Charlie Scheidt, President of American Roland Food Corporation. Mayor Frank Gambatese, Town Manager Bernard Hvozdovic, and Councilmen Christopher Killmurray and Charles Carley all attended the ribbon-cutting.
The lab, managed by Director of Quality Assurance, Karie Farrace, enables the existing quality assurance department to expand the volume of testing done each day. The lab is staffed by four trained specialists who conduct tests on the physical properties of products, like net weight and size, on chemical properties like pH and viscosity, and sensory properties like color, appearance, and taste. Anywhere from ten to thirty items are inspected each day and special projects include cooking instruction validation and serving size verification. In addition to daily product inspection, the QA department handles customer complaints and product development. Paul Vertullo, VP of Sales & Marketing at Roland Foods, said “Roland Foods is constantly investing in product development and product safety. We want our customers to know that we stand behind our brand.”
Roland Foods is thrilled with the new facility. “As a company and national brand, we have never cut corners on quality. We maintain high expectations from production to packaging, shipping and arrival at the store or restaurant,” said George Steiner, VP of Purchasing at Roland Foods.
