TWIN FALLS – Chobani Greek yogurt isn’t a locally made product just yet.
That won’t happen until mid-2012, after the New York-based company opens its new production plant off Kimberly Road in southeast Twin Falls. But the thick dairy treat is already gaining popularity on store shelves.
Local grocers have noticed a boost in their customers buying Chobani that started in mid-November. That’s when Chobani’s parent company, Agro Farma, announced its plan to build the 400-employee production plant in Twin Falls.
Grocery store managers attribute the sales spike to the recent announcement, as well as Magic Valley residents’ desire to support local food products.
