Dueling supermarket chains in the Capital Region are in talks to settle a lawsuit over trademark infringement allegations.
Attorneys for Schenectady-based Golub Corp., owner of the Price Chopper chain, advised a federal judge of the development in a letter filed Dec. 16.
Price Chopper sued the corporate parent of the ShopRite supermarket chain in October. Price Chopper claimed ShopRite bought keywords on Internet search engines so that its ads appeared first when people searched for "Price Chopper" terms.
Golub is seeking unspecified damages. ShopRite has not filed any paperwork in the court case; calls to a company spokeswoman were not returned.
