San Diego-based Homegrown Meats announced that it has signed a deal to provide grass-fed beef raised at ranches in Fallbrook and on Palomar Mountain to Whole Foods Market locations in San Diego and Orange counties.
Born and raised at ranches in San Diego County, the cattle range freely and graze solely on the native grasses that grow in pastures—- thus the name "grass-fed beef." The cattle are not fed corn or antibiotics and hormones that corporate ranches have injected into cattle to make them grow quickly.
Low-fat beef from Homegrown Meats will be sold at Whole Foods Markets in Encinitas, La Jolla, Hillcrest, Tustin, Laguna Beach and Huntington Beach.
