H-E-B Latin grocery concept Mi Tienda will open its second location Dec. 7 at 3800 E. Little York Road at U.S. 59 in north Houston.
The 97,000-square-foot store, featuring products from Mexico and Central America, is more than twice the size of the original Mi Tienda in South Houston near Pasadena.
The new store will be much different from the original concept when it made its debut in 2006, said Juan Alonso, Houston regional vice president for Mi Tienda.
"We learned a lot," Alonso said. Mi Tienda has lowered its prices, he noted, and the new pricing strategy is now at both stores.
